Favourite geocaches: Kent

Awarding our Geocaching favourite points: Where? Which? Why?

Sometimes we award favourite points for the memories attached to finding a cache, other times it’s for the creativity of the containers, and then there’s also the points for location…for taking us to a different place that we wouldn’t have otherwise known about. 🙂

A special mention has to be given to the fiendish puzzle caches which we award favourite points to for the time and effort that goes into putting them together – especially if there’s a great container at the end!!

Please let me know if there are any great caches that we should check out in your area as this list is by no means extensive – and we’re always up for a road trip!

Cache Type: Puzzle (Mystery/Unknown)

We nearly didn’t get to find this cache as we’d missed a couple of numbers on of the White Cliffs Geotrail that we needed to find it, luckily we made a guess that turned out to be correct which was great because we really loved this cache! Read more about our time in Canterbury and Dover over at the post “Going out of my comfort zone in Kent“!

Choose Your Pathway – GC3KJH3 by jazzyjessups *Found on: 19/10/13*

Difficulty 4.5 – Terrain 1.5

Cache Type: Unknown (Puzzle/Mystery)

Well our original plan for our trip to Kent had been to pick up the 1000 in a year…and something else Challenge?! cache however when we got there we realised we hadn’t read the cache page properly and we didn’t actually qualify for it!!! Schoolboy error!

Our day didn’t really improve as we’d also decided to try and qualify for another challenge, the 3 Corners T/D grid Challenge but we missed out on this one too after we had to log a DNF at I’m taking an early holiday… talk about a stressful day haha!

However this cache was our silver lining as we’d seen it the night before we left and it was one that we needed for our D/T grid. It had a topic that I was familiar with but it still took a whole evening to gather all of the relevant information. It was great when everything fell into place though and ended up being a nice cache and dash once we got there.

With so many great puzzles over in Kent we’re looking forward to solving some more and heading back this way!

*Worth popping into if you get the chance is this crazy Mini showroom….it’s totally unbelievable how many Mini’s they have in such a small space. The mind boggles! :)
